Are you planning a wedding? Every bride and groom wants their wedding to stand out. You always want your wedding to be memorable and to have everyone think that this is the very best wedding that they have attended. With some thought and creative planning, you can make your wedding quite stylish and unique. There are things you can do to truly add your own personal touch to your wedding, so people will know that this wedding is truly the union of the two of you as individuals with different tastes and personalities.

The first step is to make a list of all of your likes, preferences and things that you enjoy. Don’t filter out the list for the moment – just focus on getting it all on paper. What are things that make you truly you? How would people describe you? Once you have this list then work together and create an additional list of things about the two of you as a couple. So if your first date was going ice skating in February and you call each other “penguin” those are things for the list. All of these little ideas can be inspirations for things that you could add to your wedding. When you have the two lists, look through them and start getting ideas. What could you use for great music? What could you use for great food? Do you see any ideas that inspire you for a great location for your wedding reception? If the two of you love animals, what about getting married at the zoo or at an animal sanctuary. Think out of the box and be creative. You don’t have to do what everyone has always done – your wedding can be different and really express who you are.

An important idea is to consider what the two of you want to express at your wedding. If the two of you are religious or if you have cultural traditions that are important to you – then you’ll want to include these in your ceremony and your wedding reception. Remember that your wedding is about the two of you, it is not about anyone else. You deserve to create the wedding that pleases you the most. You do want your guests to have a good time – but if planning your wedding makes you feel stifled or frustrated – this is a sign that you are not truly expressing yourself in the way you’d like to.

Your wedding should be beautiful and truly a celebration of the union of two souls. With some thought you can make your ceremony and reception unique and as special as the two of you are!
